Day 1: Arrive at Kathmandu
June 11
Transfer to Kathmandu. Explore the sights and sounds of the vibrant capital city.
Day 2: Tour Kathmandu
June 12
Tour historic and cultural sites such as the Bouddhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa, Kathmandu and Patan Durbar Squares.
Day 3: Overland to Lumbini
June 13
We will take a private tourist bus from Kathmandu to Lumbini, an 8-9 hour journey. After check into the hotel in Lumbini, we visit the iconic Maya Devi Temple where Lord Buddha was born, the Ashoka Pillar that was erected of proof of his birth, and the Sacred Pond.
Day 4: Lumbini Sightseeing and Puja
Explore the Lumbini Garden and various monasteries, participate in puja (prayer) ceremonies throughout the day.
Day 5: Lumbini to Nalanda via Kushinagar
Drive from Lumbini to Kushinagar, visit the Parinirvana Stupa in Kushinagar and continue driving from Kushinagar to Nalanda. Check into the hotel in Nalanda and rest.
Day 6: Nalanda to Bodhgaya via Rajgir
Drive together from Nalanda to Bodh Gaya via Rajgir, visit Gridhakuta Hill (Vulture’s Peak) in Rajgir. Continue to Bodh Gaya and check into the hotel, visit the Mahabodhi Temple and Bodhi Tree.
Day 7: Bodh Gaya for Puja and Meditation
June 17
Participate in puja and meditation at the Mahabodhi Temple, visit the Great Buddha Statue and various monasteries, rest and leisure in Bodh Gaya.
Day 8: Bodh Gaya to Sarnath
June 18
Bodh Gaya to Sarnath, check into the hotel in Sarnath, visit the Dhamek Stupa, Mulagandha Kuti Vihara, and Chaukhandi Stupa.
Day 9: Sarnath and Ganga River Visit
June 19
Explore more of Sarnath including Sarnath Museum, drive to Varanasi for a Ganga River visit. Attend the Ganga Aarti ceremony at Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi.
Day 10: Train from Varanasi to New Delhi
Bus to Mandi, and check into the hotel in Mandi
Day 11: Mandi to Riwalsar
June 21
Check into the hotel in Riwalsar. Visit the sacred lake and local monasteries.
Day 12: Riwalsar for Puja
June 22
Guru Rinpoche Cave and other significant sites. Enjoy the serene atmosphere of Riwalsar.
Day 13: Riwalsar to Amritsar
June 23
Drive from Riwalsar to Amritsar. Check into the hotel in Amritsar. Visit the Golden Temple for the evening ceremony.
Day 14: Amritsar to Delhi
June 24
Drive from Amritsar to Delhi. Free time in Delhi for shopping or additional sightseeing. Relax at the hotel or explore Delhi’s nightlife.
Day 15: Delhi to Kathmandu
June 25
Fly from Delhi to Kathmandu, arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to your accommodation.
